Hi, my name is Nina, and I am experienced tutor who has worked in the education field for over 10 years both as an educator and in the public policy field. I began my career working in an elementary school in Philadelphia creating literacy and other academic programs for students, tutoring individual students in reading and other subjects, and creating after school programming. In my current professional work I am an Education Policy Analyst, and in my spare time I have continued teaching and tutoring in a variety of fields.
I've spent the last 6 years as an ESL teacher for high school students and adults on a volunteer basis, and was a mentor/tutor through Big Brothers Big Sisters for 9 years. I speak Spanish Fluently, and am a native English and Hebrew speaker. I have experience in tutoring students of all ages, creating lesson plans, and administering tests and student evaluations.
I have a BA from the George Washington University, where I majored in Political Science and minored in Spanish Language and Literacy. Coursework also included religion, history, sociology, and psychology. I have a Masters Degree in Education Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, where the majority of my work focused on the history of education reform, anthropology of education, and urban education.
I'm looking to supplement my income with the opportunity to go back to my roots of teaching and working with students at all levels!
