I've always had a problem with having too many interests. I've never been able to narrow it down. I love playing cello, and am only a few credits away from a music major. I also have a great fascination with American History. But my real passion (and major) in college was English literature. Carrying on this passion to the real world, I joined Peace Corps and moved to Ukraine for two years to teach others English as a foreign language. Along the way, I fell in love with Russian and am now fluent. Having an English background, which helps me understand the grammar and logical rules of languages, along with an organic learning experience from native Russian speakers makes me effective at teaching Russian.
