Hello! My name is Brittany and thank you for taking interest in potentially hiring me as a tutor for your child!
I am a recent college graduate from Framingham State University in Massachusetts with a degree in English, with minors in History and Music!
Outside of the classroom I play violin and have 19 years of experience doing that. I also have 8 years of experience playing viola. I enjoy children of all ages and am blessed to be the oldest child in my immediate family and the oldest grandchild of my extended family. This being the case, I have over ten years of experience babysitting and caring for/working with children. While attending college I worked as a substitute teacher for students in grades pre-k through 8th grade as well as nannying for various families. I also worked in summer programs for elementary age special needs children.
I am open to tutoring children of all ages and grades in reading/writing, history, and music.
For reading and writing, I am able to help with anything from learning to read to analyzing Shakespeare. With history, I am able to help with anything from ancient civilizations to American history. More specifically for music, I am able to give violin/viola lessons or tutoring, music theory lessons/tutoring, and sight reading lessons/tutoring. I am new to the D.C. area because I hope to attend graduate school in the fall to eventually become a professor myself. I look forward to spreading my love of learning to my future students, for I believe there is a lesson to be learned every day of our lives. Thanks!
