Dear Prospective Tutee,
Get ready to learn, have fun, and gain confidence in your ability to do math! And raise your grades too!
I offer tutoring sessions for all high school math subjects—from Pre-Algebra to AP Calculus. I have helped to significantly improve students' scores and grades (as much as from a D to an A) in high school math subjects for more than two years. I also offer sessions to undergraduate students taking algebra, calculus, and differential equations.
I practice in-home tutoring or at a public venue (e.g. a library or coffee shop), whichever is more comfortable and convenient for your learning. My hours are also very flexible: my availability includes a wide mix of day times, evenings, nights and weekends.
I truly believe math can be fun and easy if it's broken down for you in a way that you can comprehend it. If you just need a tune-up, we can skip straight to the nuts and bolts. I'm very passionate about helping students succeed in math because I believe it is the foundation of having a good set of life skills in general.
I graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in Economics and Mathematics. There, I tutored calculus to several students. Post-undergraduate, I began as a volunteer group tutor before also becoming a private 1-on-1 tutor as well. I enjoy every minute of it, and it's been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life so far, one that has inspired me to become a secondary math teacher.
I value a student's desire to learn and commitment to having a good educational relationship. Being open about your needs, concerns, and things that are going well is very helpful to improving your math skills. My promise is to be supportive and to ensure that you have the best chance to do well.
Yours in Math,
Dexter
