Dear Parents:

I am a general and special education teacher in Prince George County Public Schools. I am a certified special education teacher with capabilities of teaching all students with and without special needs in the areas of language arts, math and reading. I have a sincere interest in working with students with intellectual disabilities because they can learn when taught properly. My past experience has been working students with specific learning disabilities (expressive and receptive languages, ADHD/ADD, emotional behaviors, autism). I have had success with all these students achieving academically. I have a masters degree in special education (cross category) and an EdS degree.

I am a certified teacher in special education, English Language Arts and History. I have an Educational Specialist (half way to possessing a doctorate degree) degree in curriculum and instruction. This degree allows me to design and modify curriculum to address all learning needs and styles. Currently, I am teacher in PGCPS.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have a Georgia and Maryland license in education for grades K through 12. Therefore, I have the ability to teach students on this level. I have taught PreK students in New Jersey for approximately two years before teaching high school.

Study Skills

As a special and general education teacher, I have taught study skills for three consecutive years in Georgia. These classes entail all subject areas which are cross-connected and remediation to content areas. Study skills more less enhance the students' organizational and/or structural skills. Study skills further break down content to enable mastery at a simpler level of learning.

Special Needs

I am a licensed certified special education teacher and highly qualified in ELA and History in Georgia and Maryland. I am certified to teach all students with disabilities such as: ADD/ADHD, Intellectual Disabilities, Gifted/Talented, Severe and Profound, Ortho Impaired, and Emotional Behavioral Disorders. I teach students in accordance to their learning styles (auditory, visual, tactile and kinestheics).

ADD/ADHD

I am a certified professional in special education with a license in Georgia and Maryland. I am able to teach students with all disabilities and not limited to the Gifted/Talented.

Aspergers

I am a special education teacher who is able to teach students with Asperger's (autism). My certification is in Georgia and Maryland and can be reviewed if requested.

Autism

I am a certified special education teacher with an eligibility to teach all students with special needs including with autism. My certification is in Georgia and Maryland.

Dyslexia

I am able to teach students with dyslexia (a reading disability). I have detailed knowledge and certified in Georgia and Maryland.

Praxis

I have passed the Praxis I and Praxis (certification special education). Praxis I consisted of reading, English/Writing and math. I later took the Praxis content area of special education and successfully passed on first attempt.
