Hola and Hello,

I have been a teacher of Spanish and ESL for 16 years. I am a native speaker of both languages and have taught IB, MYP and GCSE Spanish in the United States and in the Middle East. I am also currently a lecturer of Spanish at Howard University and a teacher of ESOL at Montgomery College. I have also taught English and ESL in the Middle East for 3 years. I look forward to strengthening your language skills in English y en español. Nos vemos pronto.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ESL/ESOL

I have been teaching ESL for the last 15 years. I have taught the subject both here in the US and in the Middle East. I have also taught the high school and university level. I am currently teaching adult ESL classes at Montgomery College.

IELTS

I worked in the Middle East as an ESL instructor. The students in the Middle East, unlike those that travel to the US, plan to study in England and almost all take the IELTS rather than the TOEFL. While working in Abu Dhabi, we instructed students and other teachers on strategies to move up the bands and do well on this particular test.

Spanish

Additionally to what I have added on the email, I am certified to teach Spanish PreK-12 in the states of Maryland and Virginia.

TOEFL

I am the coordinator or the ESL department at Howard University. My duty is to prepare the international students to pass the TOEFL IBT.
