Hello,

My name is Terry and I am a Jack-Of-All Trades Tutor.

My favorite subjects are math, reading, and computer technology. And I also have have experience and various hobbies that include(i.e. but not limited to) martial arts/self-defense, graphic design, tutoring, chess, etc. I am a patient and honest individual that knows through personal experience that mastery of any intellectual endeavor requires an understanding, caring, and above all; organized individual.

My tutoring experience ranges from one-on-one instruction to large groups of up to twenty students. In fact with the support of staff and a fellow student I was able to start a tutoring program to help the students of my former school in Washington, DC, DC-CAS.

My system begins with basic organization, drilling the fundamentals of brainstorm, outline, rough draft, edit and final draft. Learning organization helps your student break down a project into bite-sized pieces and confidently move step-by-step to complete the writing assignment. Repetition of the basics reinforces the concepts until they are learned.

English

My teaching method focuses on four main standards:

I also assist with foreign language to English tutoring. I tutor all ages for pre-k all the way to graduate studies.

HTML

HTML or Hyper Text Markup Language is one the most basic building blocks of the web. The purpose of a web browser is to read HTML documents and compose them into visible or audible web pages. The browser does not display the HTML tags, but uses the tags to interpret the content of the page. I will teach the entire history of HTML: Starting from the beginning all the way to HTML 5, the newest standard in the markup language.

GED

The GED or general equivalency diploma comprises of five tests: "Language Arts: Writing", "Social Studies", "Science", "Language Arts: Reading", and "Mathematics."

I have numerous resources and have taken several practice ASVAB's usually passing with a

SSAT

SSAT is the Secondary School Admissions Test. Private schools throughout the world use the SSAT as a standardized admissions test. The aptitude testing concentrates on math, reading comprehension and the use of language.

ACT Science

My first experience tutoring was based on the principles of test prep; so I understand that the skills of a great test taker is more than just knowing the material.
