I am a current undergrad at American University who has a strong background in social studies as well as tutoring. I have taken various social studies courses, including both AP economics classes, AP US and world history, AP US and comparative politics, and AP art history and receiving a 5 (extremely well qualified) on all of them. I absolutely love tutoring, having worked at an agency in Denver for the past 2 years, and would love to help students in the area with social studies and other assorted topics. Along with social studies, I have a strong background with helping students in literature classes and with other reading assignments, and my background of 5 years of competitive circuit debate helps me be well-attuned to the needs of anyone hoping to work on their public speaking skills. I am incredibly excited to work with students in the DC area, and will absolutely be willing to sit down with each student before tutoring begins and figure out what their needs are.

I have competed in multiple types of high school level and college debate over 5 years, qualifying to the high school national tournament my senior year and being the 15th (as of November 2012) ranked novice in the American Parliamentary Debate Association. I have competed in Lincoln-Douglas, Public Forum, Congressional Debate, Parliamentary Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, and spent 4 years in Policy Debate with relative success in that event.
