Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. My name is Charlie and I love language. Truly, madly, deeply. I'm the kind of person who reads dictionaries for fun and gets a real thrill from finding new, useful, and interesting words. I also firmly believe that inaccurate, obtuse, and confusing communication is a significant source of strife in the world. As a tutor for your son or daughter, I know that I can help them not only improve their writing but also improve their thinking.
Grammar and vocabulary form the basis of all writing. The parts of speech and structure of a sentence, therefore, are of paramount importance and will be taught as part of any assistance I give your child. There is, however, no more effective way to teach those things than with old-fashioned sentence diagramming. Improving vocabulary can be as simple a matter as using flashcards or as in-depth as etymological analysis using Latin and Greek roots.
