I have a very international background - I grew up between Germany, France and the U.S. (I am a German citizen) and consider all three languages as native. Since I was in high school, languages have been my passion and I have spent a lot of time studying the languages I already know as well as others such as Italian, Russian and Turkish. As an English Major in college, I worked as a tutor at my university's resource center, helping students of all levels improve their writing, reading, listening and speaking.
I have now been in DC for two years and finished my Master's degree in European & Eurasian Studies this past May. Living, studying and traveling extensively abroad has given me first-hand experience of the difficulties students face when learning a new language. In addition to native fluency in German and French, this international experience has helped me perfect the skills that make a successful tutor.
Most importantly, I feel very strongly about the importance of speaking foreign languages and hope to pass along some of my enthusiasm to my students!
