Greetings!
I have been working with kids for the past 20 years in a wide variety of settings. While my undergraduate degree was in Social Studies, I took psychology and physics classes as well, and have always had a love for math. My graduate degree was in middle level education.
I taught canoeing and rock climbing at summer camps in North Carolina and Arizona, and I have done long term subs in elementary and middle schools in Georgia and Vermont, so I understand well the need to be actively engaged in order to learn!
I did student teaching in Vermont, and have been working at an alternative school for troubled youth for the past eight 8 years. My goal was to make learning interesting and fun using a variety of project-based learning activities.
My family and I are moving to DC to be closer to family and I would love to help your child help understand the fascinating world around us!
