Hi! My name is Awa-Jane and I am a rising junior pursuing my Bachelor's Degree in International Studies at Middlebury College. I have spoken French since a young age, as my mother is from a Francophone country. I have also taken French classes since 5th grade. Right now, I am studying International Studies, with a linguistic focus in French, at Middlebury - one of the most prestigious language schools in the country.
During high school, I tutored a developmentally-challenged seven year-old in Math at For Love of Children. I reported to a supervisor weekly to discuss and improve my lesson plans for the child. For the past year, I have worked as a tutor for my professor's ten-year old child. I developed a language learning plan, based on advice I received from my elementary school and college professors. In addition, I solicited online resources to figure out what methods to use when teaching him French. The tutoring was a welcome challenge and both the child, his parents, and his teachers were pleased and impressed by his grasp of the language.
In addition to my experience and knowledge of French, I would be comfortable tutoring young children in a variety of fields. My strengths are politics, social studies, reading, and writing. Please let me know if you'd like me to tutor you or your child!
Awa
