I am a recent graduate of University of Maryland and currently work full time as an energy engineer for a consulting firm. I started tutoring in math and science about 8 years ago while I was a high school student. I was involved in a teaching assist program during this time.
While in college, I tutored high school students during my winter and summer breaks while maintaining engineering internships. One winter break I volunteered as a math assistant in an elementary school classroom. In college I gained leadership experience by taking leadership positions in various extracurricular activities such as Club Softball (President), Engineering Student Council (Sports Chair), Alpha Omega Epsilon - Engineering Sorority (Philanthropic Chair).
As a tutor, I use many examples relating math and science to real life applications. I excel at breaking down a problem or term into simple components. I then explain each component and work with the student to piece the information back together in order to solve the problem. I do this every day at my job for clients.
Teaching has always been my passion. I hope I get the opportunity to share my passion and knowledge with you.
