I have been tutoring since I was in high school, helping friends and underclassmen with English, essay writing, and literature. I also tutored in college the same subjects plus history, political science, and criminal justice. I have most recently tutored all ages in reading comprehension, English, and essay writing. I taught a criminal justice class to high school seniors while in law school.
When I first tutor students, I want to find out what learning style works best for them and then proceed in a way that takes advantages of their strengths. I want to create a relaxed environment to minimize frustration or feelings of discouragement. I want the tutoring to be a positive and helpful experience that gives the student the tools to move forward in that specific topic area in the future.
I have tutored in classroom and one-on-one settings. I have B.A. in Political Science, a J.D. and currently work for the House of Representatives as Counsel.
I believe that learning is a process that can be enjoyable. I am dedicated to giving of myself to assist students in achieving their goals as others have done for me.
