I have over two years experience serving as a graduate teaching assistant where I helped lead discussions and met one-on-one with students to help them understand vital concepts, and provided feedback on course projects as they were being crafted. Due to my experience grading writing assignments, I am a good judge of what it takes to make a paper stand out above the rest. Courses in which I have assisted include: Introduction to Sociology, Critical Social Theorists, American Society, Inequality, Race and Ethnicity, among a few others. I have spent an extensive amount of time studying gender inequality. In December 2010, I completed my M.A. in Sociology from American University, after finishing my master's thesis which focused on race, gender, class and sexuality, exploring the ways in which men understand their participation as consumers of female prostitution. I finished with a 3.95 GPA. I have been selected to present my paper at this year's annual ASA (American Sociological Association) conference.
