I have taught English as a Second language, Business English and Spanish as a Foreign Language both in the United States and in Argentina for the past 10 years. I have Master’s Degrees in both Latin American Studies and in the teaching of English as a Foreign Language. I am certified in Spanish Translation and am a certified teacher awarded by the American Field Service and the American Embassy. I feel that I am very well qualified to undertake the responsibilities of an instructor with your Department and this would provide an excellent environment for my intellectual and professional growth.
At this point in my career, I want to combine my two intellectual loves, teaching and my translation/interpretation abilities to well-motivated students. As the Founder and Spanish Coordinator for a highly successful multilingual communications company in Washington, DC, I have gained a lot of experience teaching and offering language solutions in many venues. I am adept at encouraging creativity in the classroom, which has proved to motivate my students to excel. During my years as a bilingual educator, I have developed a keen understanding of the importance of student assimilation and respect for their native upbringing. These key principles make teaching bilingual students a rewarding and challenging career path.
