If you seek a goal-oriented tutor who is kind, knowledgeable and a GREAT motivator, you have come to the right place - Eve is the teacher for you. With an optimistic, can-do attitude, I help even the most reluctant student have fun learning! My resourcefulness enables me to revise lessons "on-the-spot" if needed and I am always open to input from students and parents.

Specialty: Writing, Reading, Speaking, Presentation, Interview Skills and Test Preparation for all ages
Skilled in working with students who need help with study skills, organization and exam preparation or have learning issues, such as ADD or low self-confidence.

I love to motivate students, especially those who have lost confidence in their ability. My greatest challenges and successes in tutoring have been with students who feel they are "behind" in a subject. These students often lack the belief that they will learn, even if they work hard. They need to find evidence of success that they can then use to motivate themselves. My job as tutor is to reinforce any and all progress so these students can begin to see themselves in a new way, as a success in school. My upbeat personality, knowledge of learning, role modeling and gentle guidance has enabled me to help many students go beyond their wildest dreams in the last 6 years. Working with struggling students of all ages has taught me how important it is to possess patience, a sense of humor and the ability to instill a belief in students that they can and will succeed.

I have tutored all levels from 4th grade through 12th grade for the past 6 years and am a Connecticut certified teacher. I have worked with great success in the Norwalk and Westport public schools and offer you particular skill in addressing needs of students with low confidence in their academic skills. Additionally, I possess a mastery of a broad range of academic content:

ALL AGES: Test Preparation: GED, GRE, ASWAB, PSAT and Praxis II
GRADES 4-8: Math, Reading, Writing and Editing, Social Studies, Science, Study Skills, Organization, Exam Preparation, Interview Skills (private school admission),
GRADE 9-12: English, Writing and Editing, AP English and History and Government, Social Studies, Exam Preparation, College Essays, Study Skills and Organization, Resume Writing, College Counseling, Career Counseling, Interview skills (college and private school admission).
