Hello!
My name is Ashley, and I tutor all subjects and ages, but I specialize in Math and Science.
I hold a Masters in Chemistry from Yale University and have years of experience with children of all ages from babysitting newborns, teaching middle- and high-schoolers to tutoring college seniors. I come highly recommended by parents and am very passionate: I teach the love of learning!
Also, I can help with study skills, test preparation, school admissions counseling and organization. If your child is younger or you as the tutee have a child, I can "babysit" while, before or after I tutor and help with schoolwork. I am also a good cleaner and cook.
My rates are negotiable.
Here is a little bit about my schooling and experience as a teacher:
I grew up in West Simsbury, CT and graduated from SHS in 1999. Always extremely studious, I was on the high honor roll and became a national merit semifinalist for high PSAT and SAT scores. I have two bachelor's degrees in biology and chemistry, as well as a master's degree in organic chemistry.
I graduated summa cum laude (GPA of 3.96) from Saint Joseph College in CT. I then attended Yale University to obtain a master's degree in organic chemistry. At Yale, I taught college freshmen chemistry and directed laboratory courses.
Since then, I have taught for about eight years in private schools in NYC, and have privately tutored in all subjects while living in NYC.
I am currently a middle school science teacher at Avenues: The World School in Chelsea.
I hope to connect with you very soon!
