As a teacher and mother with 20 years of experience in early childhood education I
can assist elementary school children in helping them achieve their potential in
reading, math and writing. Reading, math and writing skills are important for students to succeed. I offer a hands on approach using quality literature and math games. Using a guided reading approach I offer a fun way for students to learn their letter sounds, sight words and reading comprehension. Elementary (K-6th)

I hold a current CT State Certification for Grades PreK-Grade 3, in addition I have worked in the teaching field (Early Childhood Prek-Grade3) for twenty years. Much of my experience has been involved with teaching and assisting students in a public school and private school setting. I also have achieved a certificate of recognition for DRA (developmental reading assessment) training to administer and teach reading at the elementary level.

Phonics

My significant training through workshops, classroom teaching and working with special needs children in phonics and whole language has assisted me in ensuring I can teach these skills to students. I have training in teaching reading and administering the DAR assessments. I have college credits in Reading Development/Reading Assessment and Language Development. In addition I am a Certified Elementary School Teacher.

Study Skills

Study Skills such as organizing, breaking tasks into small steps, planning, and challenging oneself to do more are important life long skills. I thrive on challenging my students to reach their highest potential through skill building and hands on experiences. In addition my State Certification in Elementary Education/Special Education covers this subject area which I am certified in.

Special Needs

I am certified to teach Special Needs students from PreK-Kindergarten. I love working with special needs children and have over 15 years experience in this area of education.

If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
