The ACT Math test can be significantly more difficult than the SAT. Therefore, students need to be well prepared and comfortable with the testing structure/format. They also need to be familiar with the type of questions and wordings. I will help to diagnose your weak areas and develop a plan of study to improve your abilities in those areas. By utilizing different strategies and techniques, I will help you improve your ability to make an educated guess under those instances where you maybe uncertain of a particular question(s). I will use past released test materials as practice questions under real testing conditions to help students build their comfort and confidence level. Being comfortable in all these areas will help students to be better prepared and relaxed on the test day.
I have taught and tutored Algebra I to students with a very diverse ethnic background and of different abilities for more than fifteen years. With topics such as linear equations, ratios, quadratic equations, special factorizations, complex numbers, graphing linear and quadratic equations, linear and quadratic inequalities, functions, polynomials, exponents and logarithms, absolute value, sequences and series, etc. All of these topics I have studied extensively during my years of educational training.
As with Algebra 1, I have taught and tutored Algebra II to students with a very diverse ethnic background and of different abilities for over fifteen years. Also, as an engineer with an advanced degree in engineering, I have used Algebra II to solved complicated engineering problems.
As a Christian for more than thirteen years, I have studied the Bible extensively and have attended Bible studies classes at least once per week. I prepare and taught custom Bible studies to individual, small groups, and the congregation. I have been very active in church mentoring youth and new Christians. To study the scriptures effectively it must be studied in context. One must also understand the purpose of the text and who it was written to.
If you are interested in studying the Bible, you must have an open mind to allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you. The Spirit will reveal the meaning of scripture when it is sought with an open mind. Teaching others is my true passion. Therefore, if you are interested in studying the Bible, let me help you to understand the Word of God. The only thing that is required is for you to have an open mind and the willingness to be obedient to Spirit as He speaks to your heart.
I have a degree in computer engineering with a minor in computer science from SUNYIT. I took C and got an A+ grade, and I also tutored it for several years.
I have a degree in computer engineering and minor computer science from SUNYIT. I took C++ and got an A grade, and I also tutored it for several years.
I have taught and tutored Calculus to students with a very diverse ethnic background and of different abilities for more than fifteen years. Calculus I is primarily about derivatives which are the instantaneous rates of change. Calculus II is primarily about integrations or integrals which are the area under the curve. Calculus III or multivariable calculus covers topics like Euclidean 3-space and vectors (addition, scalar multiplication, dot products, cross products, etc.). Some additional covered topics are: curvature, partial derivatives, double and triple integrals (which will involve the conversion to polar, cylindrical, and spherical coordinates), line integrals, gradients, Green's Theorem, curl, divergence, and surface integrals.
I have taught and tutored at the university level. My educational background consist of dual bachelors in electrical and computer engineering, minors in math and computer science, a masters in engineering (MSEE) and a current Ph.D. student at NYU-POLY. I have successfully planned and executed my education path which made me a more rounded and educated engineer in my field. I have also planned and developed my career which seems to impress many employers. I have helped college students and working professionals successfully design and implement their career path
With dual bachelors in electrical and computer engineering and minor in computer science, I have programmed in many different programming languages. Computer programming involves courses in math, computer science, logic, computer architecture, computer operating systems and data structures. It also involves different programming languages like C, C++, micro-programming, assembly language, java, visual basic, object oriented programming, numerical computation, and much more! All of these I have studied. As technology advances, many engineers are now crossing the boundary into computer science as a means of staying current. As an IT networking consultant, computer programming is a vital part of batch system configurations and deployments.
With dual bachelor's in electrical and computer engineering, and minors in math and computer science, I have a wealth of knowledge in this field. Computer science covers courses in math, logic, computer organization, computer architecture, computer operating systems and data structures, object-oriented design, discrete mathematics, algorithms and systems. It also involves different programming languages like C, C++, assembly language, java, UNIX, and much more! Many engineers are now crossing the boundary into computer science.
A strong background in Calculus is needed to be successful in this course. As a professional engineer, differential equations is used to model all kinds of systems like control systems, mechanical system, electrical power systems, electrical circuits, etc. Solving differential equations involves taking the antiderivatives of functions.
I hold dual bachelor's in electrical and computer engineering, minors in math and computer science, master's in electrical engineering (MSEE), and am a current Ph.D. student. I have also worked as a professional engineer for over twelve years designing power test equipment, control systems and motor controllers. Engineering is my passion and my goal is to become a college professor teaching what I love.
My students of Geometry are from a diverse ethnic background with different abilities and I have taught them for over fifteen years. Geometry is challenging to students because it forces them to think of problems visually, by visualizing figures, forming equations and writing proofs. For students who are not visual learners and logical thinkers, this course poses great challenges.
I have taught and tutored linear algebra to students with a very diverse ethnic background and of different abilities for more than fifteen years. Linear algebra is an advanced course normally taken by math, science and engineering majors. It covers Matrices, vectors, vector spaces, transformations, eigen vectors/values. It also covers all topics in a first year college linear algebra course. As an engineer, I use linear algebra to setup and solve complicated engineering problems.
As an IT consultant, I have configured Outlook on many occasions for business clients and for a number of individuals. As a Microsoft Certified Office Specialist, I have taught groups and individuals how to use Outlook. Also I use this program on a daily basis.
I have a BS degree in computer engineering with a minor in computer science from SUNYIT. I also ran a computer networking business for over ten years. As an IT consultant I supported Windows systems (95, 98, 2000, XP, Win7 and Win8). I have built, repaired and troubleshooted many computers over the years using Windows.
I have a BS degree in computer engineering with a minor in computer science from SUNYIT. I also ran a computer networking business for over ten years. During which time I functioned as a business IT consultant setting-up and configuring networks. I also provided consultations for small businesses and on a more personal basis setting up small office network and in-home networking. I set up both wired and wireless networks with wireless encryption security. I configured routers, firewalls, access points and servers.
Physics is an integral part of engineering and the basis for understanding engineering principles. As such, all engineering students are required to take Physics in the early stage of their curriculum. During my studies, I have grown to love physics because it helps to explain difficult subject matters. Physics is an enjoyable subject and one that requires passion. I have been tutoring Physics for years now and I truly enjoy this subject.
With an advance degree in engineering and as a practicing engineer, I draw from the principles of Physics almost on a weekly basis. Because of its abstract nature; Physics is difficult for many students. Let me help you unlock the beauty of physics and reveal how enjoyable this topic can be.
