I received my Masters of Fine Art in Photography from the School of Visual Arts in May 2011. Since graduating I have been working as a Digital Photography Consultant for a number of New York based photographers working specifically with Digital Photography. I have also been a Teaching Assistant for a number of Continuing Ed and Masters Levels classes in hopes of gaining experience to teach classes of my own in the near future.
I had a strange path to Photography. I went to college to pursue a dream of playing professional baseball which fell short due to two significant arm surgeries. Following the surgeries I got into Art and became an Art Major. After an internship in NYC at a prominent Photography gallery I fell in love with the medium and have been doing it ever since. I worked in the Art Consulting industry before deciding to take the plunge and get my Masters in 2008 and haven't looked back.
I think it's amazing how popular the medium has become and I absolutely enjoy teaching it. I see teaching photography as a collaborative effort. In teaching you both the technical and aesthetic sides of the medium, I have the fortunate opportunity to learn from you as well. We all see the world differently, what one person overlooks another becomes enamored with.
I have successfully taught beginners to intermediates in the medium. Whether you're looking to learn the functions of your DSLR, composition, or editing in Photoshop, I'm your man!
