Math and Science Tutor -- Fun and Educational!

As a boarding school chemistry teacher, I have a passion for teaching and learning, and I do my best to engage students in the material. I approach learning with a fun and upbeat tempo, and am very patient with those who may not get it on the first try. I also coach volleyball and track and field, and am very interested in helping students grow athletically as well - I was a Division III All American in track and field. Music is another one of my passions and something I am interested in helping others learn - I sang in an a cappella group all 4 years in college and had many solos during my time there. Elementary (K-6th)

I am a boarding school chemistry teacher. One of the most important things when working with elementary age students is to be patient and provide positive feedback and positive reinforcement. Make sure that the beginning of each lesson starts off on a positive note and makes them feel comfortable and willing to put in the work. Present the information in multiple ways to reinforce confidence and understanding. Practice, practice, practice!

Track & Field

I am a current track and field coach in the throws (shot, disc, and javelin and am capable of coaching hammer throw and weight throw). I have been competing in track and field for the last 6 years, in all 5 of the above events, and I was a Division III All American in 2009.

Voice (Music)

This past spring I held an a cappella week long course at the school where I teach, and have sang in an a cappella group for all 4 years of college, and have been singing since I was very young. I had multiple solos during my time in college.

Volleyball

I am a current volleyball coach at the varsity level, and competed for 4 years in high school before pursuing track and field in college.

Chemical Engineering

I have a bachelor of science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Chemical Engineering.

2 students at a time, 1.5x the rate will be applied that students can split. 30 minute sessions, 60% of the rate will be applied. For two hours, 1.75x the rate will be applied.
