I have a degree from Fairfield University in Physics and minors in Philosophy and Mathematics. I also have quite few courses of graduate Mathematics under my belt. I currently work as a substitute teacher and I worked at Nature's Classroom for over six years. I am currently in the process of getting a secondary Mathematics teacher certification. I have lived in Fairfield County for almost my whole life and have a great deal of experience working with young people.

ACT Math

The ACT Math is key to getting into many colleges. As a Physics major I had to make use of Algebra, Calculus, Statistics, Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, Geometry. Algebra 1

I can teach the basics of algebra and make a sturdy foundation for higher Mathematics. Algebra I is necessary and used constantly in all the higher levels of Mathematics. I use algebra I constantly myself for Physics and Calculus applications. This familiarity is something I am willing to share with a student. I will use many approaches to get the ideas across.

Algebra 2

Algebra II is a next step and takes the basic ideas in Algebra I and applies them with a more general scope and power. It is the next step in which more complex problems are tackled. A mastery of Algebra two is a necessary skill and building block for higher mathematics. It is a necessity for post-secondary education and most careers. My strong familiarity with the subject will help guide you through this essential subject.

American History

A knowledge of American History is essential for citizenship. Cicero once said "those who don't know history are forever like children who only know the present." History offers the perspective that the way things are now were very different in the past. Studying the details and character of the American past tells us "who we are", "where we came from" and possibly "where we are going".

Anatomy

Anatomy is a key subject for work in the medical profession. I come from a medical family. My Dad is a doctor and both My mother and sister are nurses. I have grown up around the medical profession and have studied Anatomy and Physiology in my spare time. I have taught dissections in biology classes. I can help you in these key subjects.

ASVAB

I have a strong background in Mathematics, Science, History, and English Language skills. I have over six years' teaching experience. I have a B.S. in Physics with minors in Mathematics and Philosophy. Prepping for the ASVAB is something I can help you do.

Calculus

As part of my Major in Physics, I studied and made extensive use of the Calculus I learned as an undergrad. I also studied Analysis (Calculus at grad level) in Graduate School. Calculus is an important subject for studying any phenomenon that involve continuous change (whether in Physics, Business, Biology, demography , engineering, etc.) This subject has so many uses and applications it is essential for many careers. I am very familiar with this subject and I can teach you to use it like a pro.

Chemistry

I majored in Physics as an undergrad where I studied chemistry in addition. I have six years teaching experience and a strong Mathematics and Science background.

Economics

I majoreded in Physics and minored in Mathematics and Philosophy in addition I studied ecomonics as an undergrad. Economics has always been an interest of mine and I have read much literature on the topic. I have six years teaching experience. I live in Stratford, CT and I have transportation.

Elementary Math

Elementary math is the foundation for all math that comes later. The uses go from the ordinary counting change to figuring out how to build satellites to orbit the earth. I have a strong Mathematics background and can introduce you child gently to all the ins and outs of the subject.

GED

The GED is your stepping stone to a better future. It is a gateway to college or technical school. I have a Bachelor's degree in Physics with minors in Mathematics and Philosophy. I have extensive English, Grammar, History, Science and Mathematics expertise. I can help you with the GED.

Geometry

Geometry is the oldest and one of the most important branches of Mathematics. It is used in applications as various as surveying, building computer chips, Nuclear Physics and Astronomy. I am very familiar with the ins and outs of Geometry and am confident that I can bring my experience to bear in teaching Geometry. I have over six years experience in teaching and I have my own transportation.

Philosophy

Philosophy is a key subject. It asks the really important questions. Ethics (what is Justice ?), Metaphysics (what is real), Epistemology (what can we really know?), Aesthetics (what is beauty), Logic (what can be absolute proved) are some of the major branches of this subject. It touches on all other fields with it scope and answers vital questions about the meaning of life, where we come from, who we are and how should we live. I will introduce you to this foundational subject and help you grapple with its big Questions.

Physics

My major as an undergrad was Physics. I studied General Physics, Optics, Electromagnetism,Thermodynamics, Quantum Mechanics, Nuclear Physics, Mechanics etc. In addition I have a Mathematics minor which includes Calculus, Ordinary Differential Equations, Partial Differential equations, Statistics, Number theory, Linear Algebra, Set Theory, Numerical Analysis, Topology etc.
I have six years teaching experience and my own transportation.

Physiology

Physiology is a necessary subject needed to enter the Medical field. I can help you with Both Anatomy and Physiology.

Prealgebra

Pre-Algebra is a necessary foundation to succeeding in High School Mathematics and Beyond. My training in Physics required rigorous Mathematical training. My work at Nature's Classroom brought me in contact with many kinds of children with vastly different temperaments and needs. I worked children for over six years and I was required to engage them in the sciences and environmental education. This background will enable me to respond to your child's Mathematical and educational needs.

Precalculus

Precalculus is an essential precursor to Calculus and beyond. I have a B.S. in Physics with minors in Mathematics and Philosophy. I have studied Mathematics at the Graduate level. I can get you up to speed in Precalculus because I have over six years' teaching experience and I am prepared to guide you through the twists and turns of the Mathematical terrain.

Reading

Fluency in reading is paramount in succeeding at all levels and all jobs. I have worked with children for over six years and have the patience and care to help your child succeed at this most necessary skill.

SAT Math

The SAT's are essential to getting into a good school I have an SAT score of 1290 (out of a score of 1600). I have a strong background in Mathematics having a B.S. in Physics and minors in Mathematics and Philosophy. I can get those interested in achieving on the SAT up to speed.

SAT Reading

The reading part of the SAT represents one third of the score on the SAT. A good vocabulary is key and the ability to comprehend text is essential to score well on this part of the SAT. The SAT Score can be boosted by exposure to vocabulary and practice sessions involving reading of texts. It takes work but with effort SAT Scores can improve. I can help with this practice. I live in Stratford and I have transportation.
