I am currently working on my PhD in Exercise Physiology at the University of Connecticut before this I spent 7 years teaching high school science and health classes in California and have a current and valid teaching credential for the state of California. During this time I also worked as the schools athletic trainer and strength coach and during the summer I tutored students in math, biology, chemistry, physics and health science along with teaching as an adjunct faculty member at two Community Colleges in Southern California.
I am a progressive teacher that uses a question and answer style method to bring out the creative and critical thinking that is needed to understand the material of a particular course. When tutoring I generally have the student explain to me what they understand about the information and then build on that to further expand their general overall knowledge on a topic. I tend to be very open to student problems and issues with given topics and use reassuring comments and positive feedback to get the most out my students.
