I am a native Colombian tutor with years of experience teaching adults conversational Spanish including grammar, sentence construction, reading, and writing. I began teaching while working in South America. Doing training for my fellow employees was a wonderful training ground for me an actually gave birth to my desire to teach. When I arrived in the United States, my first job was teaching in a Florida Retirement community called Century Village. My students wanted to learn Spanish so they could enjoy their vacations south of the border and also to better communicate with some of the south Floridians. My husband transferred to Spokane, Washington, and once settled there I was lucky enough to obtain a teaching role at another retirement community where I fell in love with my students. I also taught for the systems IEL students ( (Spokane Community College).
My greatest success has been teaching my husband the proper usage of Spanish which has helped him in his work throughout LATAM.
I can’t tell you if you can get better teacher, but I can tell you why I am a good teacher. I am a passionate professional that means that I put my knowledge ( I am a lawyer) and my heart in my job. I prepare each class with dedication because each student is unique and each one deserves it. I have found that we achieve not what we want but what we focus on. I focus in who puts confidence in me. I believe in my students, I accept only those who want to learn and who also are dedicated.
If you think that you is one of them even with fear of failure, write me it will be a great pleasure make a good Spanish team!
