My name is Kaitrin and I am a working artist, writer, and photographer. I happy to help with tutoring related in the fine arts, digital arts, and writing. I am very easy going when it comes to teaching. I am happy to explain and explain again and have no problem altering my teaching methods to fit how you learn best. Teaching is something that I genuinely enjoy. I am extremely patient and I am passionate about the arts. I can make lessons very prompt and efficient or more process driven and elaborative. Lessons can be formal, fun, or a combination of the two. They will most certainly be worthwhile.
In the field of art, I have received five competitive grants for my work, including the Day of Pride, Holster, Roger Cheney, Ellen and the John Green Art Travel Fund, and ArtCorp Grants between 2011 and 2013. I have worked as a photographer and a writer in two different small publications. Currently, I am working under two grants to write and illustrate a book on the art and science of synesthesia to be submitted to MIT press in 2015. I have exhibited juried work in the Arena Contemporary Gallery, Benton Museum, and Union Gallery. I am also a BFA Honors candidate for Photography. I am kind, creative, and I thoroughly enjoy what I do.
Whether you need help learning the basics, putting together a competitive portfolio, creating a specific effect in Photoshop, or are looking to improve your skills in writing, I will make it a priority to help you achieve what you are looking for.
