As an experienced high school science and AP Biology teacher, I am ready to help students learn how to organize their learning and improve their test scores in all levels of middle and high school biology. I have taught middle and high school science for the last 16 years in Central Africa, New York City, Upstate New York and Illinois. With my extensive knowledge of teaching AP Biology and ACT Science Reasoning Test skills, I know what it takes to get an excellent score on a standardized science exam. I specialize in helping students design study plans to meet their goals and conquer detailed and complicated biology content. I am also available for college level tutoring and I am willing to work with nursing and biochemistry students.
I am a National Board Certified Science Teacher. I am also a certified Master Teacher in the State of Illinois. I am a high school graduate of Woodstock School, an international boarding school in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, India. My BA in Biology is from Berea College in Berea, KY. My Masters in Secondary Science Education is from Teachers College, Columbia University in New York, NY. In 2008, I was one of 6 national recipients of The College Board's Bob Costas Award for the Teaching of Writing.
I am now a full time mom to two small children and a part time tutor. I am available from 6:00-10:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
