I am a twenty-six year old who has been dedicated to teaching foreign languages for years. Whether you're looking to learn a second or third language, or need help in school, I am here to help you get the tutoring you need. I have a specific way of learning with the student as I teach, to find the methods that best fit the student, instead of the same boring exercises. For example some people need repetition in grammar exercises, some people learn better visually or auditorily. It's different for every person. I have access to virtually every method of teaching a foreign language, and I strive to find the best way for each individual.

I have lived in France, as well as in Spain, as well as having spent time in Germany, Italy and Morocco. The languages I tutor are French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Arabic, and now, after having lived in Spain, teaching English as a second language. My full time job is a medical interpreter, so I deal with foreign languages and cultures from all around the world for a living. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Arabic

To *beginning* students in Arabic, I offer the study of Modern Classic Arabic, the language spoken throughout all the Arabic countries. My Arabic lessons include learning to read and write the in the Arabic alphabet. I also have experience with the Egyptian dialect, which is used worldwide in the Arab-speaking world. I can offer a good introduction to the language.

ESL/ESOL

I have taught English to students when I lived in Spain.

French

To the students who are looking for tutoring in French who might be having trouble, I provide guidance in the typical French one encounters in the classroom, as well as outside the box teaching for those students who find the classroom boring. I present the material in a way that each student can understand. To those interested in learning the language for fun or business, I incorporate current culture into my lessons to both teach the language in both colloquial and formal settings, as well as educating the student on the cultures of those who speak French. I have lived in France and am currently working as a French medical interpreter.

German

I have been speaking German for about 4 years, have spent time in Germany, and have enjoyed the language ever since the moment I started speaking. I find the grammar to be a little tougher for many students than other languages, so I do my best to make it fun and easy to learn, which always gets better results from my students!

Italian

I have been tutoring Italian for the last couple years, a language I consider fun and fascinating. With my experience in other languages I can incorpotate various teaching methods to help my students learn to make it easier to learn, while still challenging students to do their best.

Portuguese

I am a Portuguese interpreter at a hospital, specializing in Portuguese from Brazil, but am also educated in Portuguese from Portugal. I understand that there are not-so-subtle differences between the countries' languages and will cater to the preferences of my students, whether they be children or adults.

Spanish

I love tutoring Spanish to anyone willing to learn, be it for a class or just because you find it interesting and useful to know. I have lived in Spain for months, so my first Spanish speaking style is castellano, but I work with a large Spanish-speaking population from Puerto Rico, Mexico, and South American countries, so I have a very wide variety of skills with the Spanish language. I currently work as a Spanish interpreter and speak with people from a wide variety of Spanish-speaking countries every day. I love spreading the gift of knowledge and open-mindedness, so if you have any questions, direct them to me!

Excellent Tutor - No Caveats — Rebecca is an excellent tutor. I have been taking Portuguese lessons with her for the past 8 weeks. She comes prepared and willing to cater the lessons to the student's needs (she doesn't have a my way or the highway approach to teaching), and she asks for feedback during the process. I would highly recommend her. ...
