Greetings! My name is Nick and I am an experienced tutor in variety of subject areas and specialties, including those covered in elementary school, middle school, high school, and even college. Whether you're searching for an experienced academic to help you or your child learn a difficult subject, prepare for a college admissions exam, or reinforce classroom material, I am ready to provide you with an individualized action plan and superior tutoring to help you achieve your academic and professional goals. But first, let me tell you a little bit about myself and qualifies me to offer you the best tutoring available.
I graduated with honors from the University of Connecticut, where I double majored in political science and sociology with a minor in criminal justice. With a 3.97 cumulative G.P.A. I graduated summa cum laude -- a distinction for those who graduated in the top 5 percent of their graduating class. In addition to being elected into Phi Beta Kappa Society, often considered the nation's most prestigious academic honors societies, I served as the President of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, held numerous leadership roles, and completed a senior honors thesis that received departmental and community awards.
After graduating from the University of Connecticut I was invited to join Teach For America. As one of the most competitive teaching programs in the United States, Teach For America provided me with intensive teaching instruction and a variety of methods to help students at both the individual and group levels. Prior to the fall term, I gained valuable experience by teaching 3rd grade reading at an inner-city elementary school in Atlanta, GA for the students who failed the standardized test in reading. After a successful experience in GA, I moved to Jacksonville, FL to teach 4th and 5th grade science in a low-income community. In addition to providing differentiated instruction for all of my students, I created approximately twelve specialized learning plans for students with learning disabilities.
