Math and Computer Science Tutoring:
I hold bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from the University of Connecticut. While there, I took several graduate courses in mathematics, and worked as a tutor and teaching assistant. I am available for tutoring in all areas of pre-college mathematics, and most subjects at the college level.
Music Tutoring:
I began studying piano seriously at the age of 14. I had always been fascinated with music, playing with electronic keyboards and various other instruments from an early age.
I attended college at the University of Connecticut, where I majored in computer science. There, I was a teaching assistant and tutor for 4 years, while finishing my undergraduate degree and working on my master's.
After receiving a master’s degree in computer science, I decided to devote myself more seriously to music, and am currently studying as a master’s student in collaborative piano at the Hartt School.
I enjoy performing solo and collaborative works, especially classical art songs. I have recently performed numerous recitals with instrumentalists and vocalists.
As a teacher, my approach to piano is based on the idea that if we do what is physically comfortable and emotionally satisfying, good results will naturally follow. I believe in teaching in a low-pressure environment, helping students discover their natural coordination and musicality.
If there is one thing I hope my students will take away, it is this: Music is a fundamental part of what makes us human, and we all have the right and privilege to make our voices heard. The purpose of music study is to understand ourselves and sharpen our expressiveness.
