Whether you are looking to help your child with the fundamentals of the 3Rs (reading, writing and arithmetic), understand to scientific method or a high school, GED or college student struggling to understand, I am the person to help your achieve your goals. My past experience as a tutor and my education and training give me the perfect combination of teaching skills and knowledge to help you succeed in your course work.

It is not about simply getting the right answer but the right process to master your math and science courses. Whether you need help finding strategies to tackle algebra, a good foundation in biology or help tackling anatomy, I have the knowledge and experience to help you master it. I tailor each session to your needs. Together we will build a foundation to ensure that you have the skills and knowledge to succeed.

I have experience working with students from kindergarten to college level courses. I am a alumni of Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY and Columbia University School of Continuing Education. My studies have provided me with a strong foundation in the physical sciences and basic math skills. I have training in the Orton-Gillingham method, a remedial training program for students with specific disability in reading, spelling, and penmanship for students struggling with phonics or diagnosed with dyslexia. I believe that having a strong understanding of the fundamentals is key to being able to succeed.

Dyslexia

I am trained in the Orton Gillingham method of remedial training for students with specific disability in reading, spelling and penmanship, characteristic of dyslexia. I worked as a tutor practicing these techniques.

Elementary (K-6th)

I worked as a federal work-study tutor in local elementary schools for 3 years.

Handwriting

As part of my Orton-Gillingham training and work I worked with students in the Orton-Gillingham handwriting method. I worked as a federal work-study tutor in local elementary schools for 3 years.

Phonics

The program I use to teach reading has its basis on applied phonics. I have training in the Orton-Gillingham method, a remedial training program for students with specific disability in reading, spelling and penmanship.
