I have been a Connecticut certified Special Education teacher for 13 years working with youths, grades 7 to 12, with a myriad of special education labels. I am competent in the areas of General Science, Algebra I, Geometry, and Social Studies. I have also earned a Master's Degree in Reading and Language Arts, which is focused on diagnosing reading deficiencies, task analysis, remediation, and progress monitoring.
Being both a certified Special Education teacher in a facility with a high number of students diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and a father of a son diagnosed with ADD and a Non-Verbal Learning disorder, I have years of experience with behavior modifications and instruction of ADD/ADHD students. 10 years of teaching students and 12 years raising a son and being closely involved with the school system has given me unique insights into working with children with this diagnosis.
