By day I am a paraprofessional in a third grade classroom in Denver Public Schools. I assist teachers in lessons of literacy and math. My methods when teaching the students are to first evaluate their prior knowledge and understanding of the subject or topic and then determine what type of learner they are. I am very thorough with my methods of teaching. I do not skip over any steps and always decipher whether or not the student is fully grasping and understanding the lesson. I like the use of visual and tangible methods because I feel that it helps learning on all levels and aspects as well as a lot of repetition.
I work well with others and I am good with children one on one. I am reliable, punctual, and organized.
I have eight years of experience working with children from ages of infancy to elementary school age.
I attend Regis University, majoring in Elementary Education, minoring in Religious Studies. I have currently completed 48 course hours and maintain a 3.8 grade point average, including courses on teaching reading, writing, and math. I have a Praxis score of 477/480.
