My education consists of a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. My real world experience consists of technical success as measured by 13 domestic patents granted as well as mentoring many employees in everything from management to various skills like QuickBooks, Quicken, Word or Excel. I successfully started 2 companies that I sold and am now interested in passing on all my real world technical skills to those that would like to learn.

My teaching/mentoring approach consists of learning about the student so that I can match their interests through creative and fun real world lessons in the subject. Algebra has many real world uses that will help the student advance in life and their career. I love to help people find their potential and am constantly looking for new ways to interest students.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

My interest in algebra began when I was in High School and filled in for my algebra teacher. Since then, I have found that all areas of a student's interest can be used for learning algebra. Algebra should not be just memorization. It is fun!

Business

My education includes an MBA as well as over 20 years experience in starting several successful companies. I hold 13 US Patents and have been recognized by my peers with awards in marketing. I have mentored many successful businessmen utilizing my skills in strategic planning.

Marketing

I have started several successful companies from scratch. I build special marketing programs for each using a customer/company/word-of-mouth model. Several of the marketing programs received awards such as a Silver EFFI for the TV commercial introducing one of the products.

Mechanical Engineering

I graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University. I hold over 13 mechanical patents and have worked as a design engineer for Water Pik and Catepillar Tractor.

QuickBooks

I started a company using QuickBooks and have used it for over 12 years. I now utilize Enterprise 12 since I now have 4 users in the same company data base.
