Hi, I'm Laura! I spent the last four years in Colorado Springs, doing my undergrad at Colorado College. While I was there, I built a very large client base as an in-home tutor. I tutored middle and high school math, English, and did quite a bit of ACT and SAT prep. I did that 20-30 hours a week for about three years before I moved here to Boulder.
Now that I'm in Boulder and I've got this law school thing figured out, I'm anxious to start meeting some new students here! As to my teaching style, I'm very conversational and I love visual aids. I'll bring a million supplemental materials for you to work on (always encouraged, never required). I'm relaxed -- complaining about your teachers to me is always an okay thing.
As for my academic credentials, I received my BA in Political Science this past spring and graduated with a 3.9 GPA. I currently attend the University of Colorado School of Law. I scored in the 90th percentile on my LSAT. I scored a 34 on the ACT and a 2210 on the SAT. In addition to being an in-home tutor for a few years, I also worked as the branch manager of a tutoring facility for about a year. In that role, I helped to develop reading and math curriculum as well as taught several classes in a larger classroom setting.
In the interest of brevity, I won't recite my entire resume here, but you're welcome to see it on request! Going along with that, please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about me, my experience, my style, your own student's concerns, etc. I'm very responsive to email.
