Hi there! I just received my bachelor's degree at John Brown University in Early Childhood Education. I have had a variety of classes on teaching methods in the areas of mathematics, reading, writing, and science. I also student taught in kindergarten and second grade, facilitating full-scale teaching models in each grade.
I have a passion for all children, especially those of elementary ages. I possess a capacity for clearly communicating and breaking down content at a comprehensible level for youngsters. I am not afraid to get on a child’s level, especially when it promotes their development, or cultivates creativity. My desire is for children to grow up and develop as individuals, recognizing their uniqueness and ability to contribute to society in an impactful manner.
I am a huge advocate for individualized instruction - I am willing to use a variety of methods and strategies to see that every student I teach is able to learn in the format most comfortable/compatible for them. Rather than rote memorization and repetition, I prefer engaging students with stimulating activities, often involving manipulatives, other physical objects to teach concepts, and fun games to reinforce concepts taught.
I would love to invest in your child's strengths and see them achieve their highest potential while together. After all, seeing the "light bulb" turn on when kiddos finally understand a concept, or when inspiration and creativity take off is what I'm all about! Let's have a blast learning together; I'm excited about the potential in your child, and the growth we can make while working together.
