I am an elementary teacher who is looking to tutor young students during the summer. As a teacher I know how important it is for students to keep up with school during the summer so that they don't lose all of what they have learned in the previous year. Tutoring allows for students to be refreshed on what they have learned the year before, excel in a certain subject area, get up to grade level, and stay on top of studies. I want to be the teacher who provides this opportunity for young students. I have a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Elementary Education so I am aware of how students learn best and the tools they need to be successful this summer, as well as in the school year to follow. As a teacher I know that each student learns differently and is unique. This means that every student that I tutor will have their own personalized plan for them to be successful. As a teacher I use a lot of teaching strategies to accomplish a goal. I use all of the different learning styles and differentiate my instruction to meet the needs of individual students. I also use assessments to drive my tutoring. I will check my students' understanding before creating a plan for them and assess them throughout the tutoring to determine where I should steer my lessons. This will also give me an insight into what we have accomplished and where we need to go next. I am very goal oriented and students will define a goal that they want to achieve while working with me. We will go over the goal each tutoring session and discuss if we are on the right path and what we need to do to get there.
