I am a native Korean who was born and grew up in Seoul, S. Korea. I majored in English and English Literature in my undergraduate with the national teaching license in S. Korea, and acquired my masters in Cultural Studies in England. I came to the US in 2011 following my American husband. My English is very good, native-like, although I have a slight British accent (It has been fading away, though).
I taught English at a public high school in S. Korea for about 4 years and have a lot of experience in cross cultural contexts, including language exchange, mediating between ESL teachers and Korean school authorities. I helped personally many American friends of mine for translating while I was in S. Korea, as well.
I am privileged to have met (and am still meeting) so many wonderful students of all age and cultural backgrounds since I came here and began teaching Korean to Korean learners as a second language. Many of these students became my long time clients because they are very satisfied with the quality of my lesson, and some of them became my good friends. My lesson is highly efficient, well-planned and organized, learner-centered, communication-oriented, adjusted to diverse individual needs and learning styles.
I am nice, sincere and try to make people comfortable. I am an efficient teacher as well as a good friend. I personally spent a lot of time teaching my own husband Korean so he could communicate with my family. I am so excited to meet you and explore the interesting world of Korean language together in the most relevant and communication-oriented way.
