I was born in Osaka, Japan and lived there until I was 26 years old. I taught conversational English to Japanese children aged between 2 and 13 for six years while I lived there. My American husband and I owned an English conversation school in Japan. After moving to the United States, I homeschooled my children and I am almost done raising our third child. I have been teaching conversational Japanese to a couple of adults currently. My teaching methods are not limited to using text books alone. I use flash cards, games and even songs when students are small children. I can also teach Japanese culture, like origami, old Japanese fables, cooking Japanese cuisine, how to wear Kimonos and so on.
