I am seeking a role as a Language Teacher/Tutor that draws on my background as a translator and interpreter for international businesses. As a Freelance Translator, I reviewed internet homepages for many companies. Previously, I served as an Interpreter and for Agency A.C. International, where I acted as a liaison interpreter for small- and large-scale international enterprises during trade fairs.
I am a multi-lingual professional with more than 15 years of experience translating and interpreting for international companies in Germany and Italy. Recently, I served as a Customer Service Agent with LM Accessories GmbH, where I utilized my language skills to support a portfolio of Italian, German, and Spanish clients. My additional experience includes working as a freelance translator and a marketing and sales agent with various companies.
I have taught several languages the last 10 years, not as a main source of income, but during my studies, and as a part time job. My family and I moved last year from Germany to Colorado and plan to stay 3-5 years. I do posses the teaching experience to reach the student both adult and child. My language proficiency helps me understand difficulties learning new languages and interferences from student's mother tongue. The two most important features in learning a foreign language are: make it fun and practical so that the student engages truly.
Along with my degree in German/English and Spanish/German Translation, I completed an internship with the Translation Bureau of Bayer AG. My fluencies include Spanish (my mother tongue), English, Italian, and German. Overall, I consistently promote respect and motivate others to demonstrate sensitivity toward cultural diversity. As a dedicated and personable linguistics professional, I feel my unique background makes me an ideal to work as a tutor.
