Number Cruncher!: Accounting & Tax, Excel, Access & QuickBooks

I've been tutoring/coaching adults in Excel and Quicken for > 5 years through a local time skills exchange program. I truly do enjoy working with people and am very kind and patient. I have a passion for computers, number crunching and small business & personal finance. I've worked as data analyst in a large corporation for > 8 years, which gave me deep experience in advanced Excel. I hold the MCAS (Microsoft Certified Application Specialist) certificate in Excel.

Currently, I'm an accounting student at MSU Denver (with good grades!) and plan to undertake the CPA exam this year. I work as a tax preparer and volunteer as the treasurer/bookkeeper of a local non-profit organization.

Microsoft Excel

I specialize in Excel from beginning through to advanced level, including conditional formatting, pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, and visual basic / macros. I can help with all Versions. I love using it - it's a very useful skill and tool in all areas of business, accounting and even engineering.

General Computer

I can help with general PC questions- Windows, how to install software, hardware, troubleshooting, networking, new PC setup, printers. I have been helping people for over 10 years and I enjoy it.

Accounting

I offer college-level accounting tutoring from a recent graduate: cost accounting, inventories (LIFO/FIFO), partnerships and corporations, tax.

QuickBooks

As treasurer of a local non-profit, I have hands-on experience in Quickbooks Pro 2010... bank reconciliations, checks, vendor & customer set up and financial reports.

Microsoft Access

I've used Microsoft Access for my years now as a data analyst. I can explain Tables, Queries, Forms, Reports. Relationships can be set up between tables. Data can be imported from excel and other sources. One can use it to spot duplicate and missing data. It's a powerful package. I enjoy using it and helping students in it.

Microsoft Windows

I've been studying and helping others in Microsoft Windows since the release of Windows 95.

My expertise includes Windows installation, adding printers, scanners and other devices, troubleshooting, back up, software and hardware adding and removal.

Tax Preparation

I began tax preparation in 2007. Since then, I've prepared hundreds of 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ returns. I specialize in investment income (stocks, bonds, funds), retirement, and small business. I have a PTIN registration with the IRS and I'm also registered with the State of NY.
