My undergraduate degree was in German Studies from Stanford University. I spent a year studying abroad--nine months near Stuttgart, Germany and three months in Vienna, Austria. I have also traveled numerous times to Germany and Austria and have a good understanding of the language and culture. Part of the German Studies major requirement was to pass a proficiency exam given by German professors.
My tutoring style is informal but always helpful. And if for some reason, I don't know an answer, I promise to find out and pass the information along.
My wife and I have four children, one of whom is getting her PhD currently from Notre Dame. She is majoring in Medieval Studies and is currently in Rome working in the Vatican Library.
Regarding my business background, I also have an MBA from Stanford University and over the past thirty years, have served as a CEO/President of three different companies with revenues exceeding $100M.
