My focus as a tutor is in English Literature. I have a Undergraduate Degree from Metropolitan State College of Denver in English Literature, with a minor in History.
I also have an Associate of Arts from Arapahoe Community College, where I focused my studies on English and Photography.
I have had the priveledge to take classes at North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota in Education, and at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis in Theater and Creative Writing.
I have been told that I have a natural ability in teaching, which I believe stems from my own desire to learn new things. I often am excited about some new thing I've learned that I just want to share it with everyone.
I have had success tutoring my niece, who suffers from a learning disability. When she expected to get a C, she got an A.
I think that we all learn through various means, and I am willing to research and try whatever means will work best with the student I am engaged in helping. Finding out their learning strengths and weaknesses is part of the process, but finding out their learning style is just as important. Is the child and audible learner, tactile learner, visual learner, or something else?
I look forward to working with you to spread the spark of knowledge to your student.
