If you asked me a year ago if I liked science, in a heartbeat my answer would be a resounding no. It was not until I had a geology professor that triggered my interest in science that I explored science on my own and enjoyed it more than I ever thought possible. My appreciation for this paradigm shift is unexplainable. If one teacher could make me like science this much after one class, I can be that one teacher for hundreds of students that couldn't care less about science. So that is what I am going to aspire to be. The teacher that changed the mindset of the students from not liking science, to becoming their own little scientists that want to explore, investigate, predict, and make conclusions. These skills are not only important in science, but they are important in life. I want to use my passion, to ignite passion in my students.
Reading and writing have also always been a passion of mine. As I am getting my teaching credential at California State University, Fullerton, I understand the importance and necessity of phonics and grammar. I am a great writer and I have a lot of patience when it comes to reading and writing.
I have been a volleyball coach for middle school, and I am very passionate about fitness and health. I am active each day and continue to instill the mindset of health in my students every day.
