Hi all:
Thanks for visiting my WyzAnt page.
A bit about me. I recently completed a graduate program in International Political Economy of Resources with a minor in Mineral and Energy Economics at the Colorado School of Mines. I also have a BA and MA in philosophy, from Bard College and the University of Chicago, respectively. I have studied German in Germany and Russian in Russia and also lived in Switzerland and Greece. I am currently on the job market and have some free time to tutor.
My professional experience has been diverse. Most recently, I was in Washington D.C. doing research and consulting on energy issues. While at Mines, I worked as a TA for a large class on the history of the international system, frequently advising students outside of class. I also taught supplementary analytic writing workshops. Previous to Mines, I freelanced as a writing consultant. My clients were academics and business professionals from the U.S., Germany, and the former Soviet Union. With many of these clients, I assisted through all stages of manuscript development: from building the analytic architecture to putting on the final pre-publication polish. I also taught international relations at a university in Germany. And earlier still I taught skiing in the Swiss Alps.
I would be happy to work with you in a variety of areas: textual analysis (political theory/science, economics, international affairs, literature, philosophy), analytic writing, using Microsoft Office, mathematics (up through Calculus 1), German language (basic through advanced), Russian language (basic through intermediate), and micro and macroeconomics. If you want ski-lessons, I'm sure we can work something out on that score, too.
I look forward to hearing from you!
All best,
Nathan
