My name is Alexa, I am a licensed K-6 teacher excited to help students get ahead this summer. I work as a K-8 substitute teacher at The Pinnacle Charter School. I have thoroughly enjoyed substitute teaching for multiple grades at the Pinnacle, but classes are out for the summer and I miss teaching already. Tutoring is a close second to teaching so I decided helping students get ahead, catch up, or just keep learning this summer would be the perfect fit for me. I believe that summer should be full of fun, sun, and practicing school skills, in order to be ready for school in the fall. I am married and live in Golden, CO. I absolutely love words! I enjoy discovering how words are formed, new definitions, and riddles. Words are fascinating and fun!

Reading

Reading is the key to learning, but not a skill that is attained without perseverance. Reading involves so many different aspects. Phonics, grammar, mechanics, vocabulary, summarizing, and understanding. When these are taught, practiced, nurtured and combined the amazing and necessary outcome is a life long reader.

Spelling

Practice, practice, practice and more practice is what makes an excellent speller.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a K-6 licensed teacher. My major in behavioral science consisted of a variety of classes. My knowledge of subjects like psychology, sociology, history, and economics provide me with a broad perspective to teach kindergarten to sixth grade. I minored in elementary education which prepared me to teach different types of learners, utilize multiple learning styles, and manage a classroom of students.

You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
