I graduated magna cum laude from New York University's prestigious anthropology program in 2011. I specialized in biological and medical anthropology, though I took courses in all four pillars of the subject (archaeology, cultural anthropology, physical anthropology, and linguistic anthropology).
I also graduated with honors in 2007 from the Denver School of the Arts, where I specialized in creative writing. As a result, I have excellent writing and reading abilities and a thorough knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary. In the past, I have taught creative writing to adults and worked as a judge for the Denver School of the Arts creative writing program. This position entailed reviewing and scoring submissions from prospective students as well as submissions to the DSA annual literary magazine "Calling Upon Calliope."
In addition to my education and work experience, I have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, am easy to work with, and, quite simply, love to teach. I approach teaching with patience and enthusiasm, listening attentively to students' questions and concerns and working with them to come to a solution. Tutoring is especially rewarding because it allows me to work one-on-one with students and to focus all of my attention on helping them to achieve their potential and excel in their studies.
