I believe that education is the key to success and that individualized learning is the key to education. Learning styles come in all shapes and sizes. I enjoy getting to know each student’s unique learning style and interests in order to provide the best tutoring possible.
I love learning. I find history and science engaging, eye-opening, and exciting, and consider it a privilege to help foster this love of knowledge in others. I have always loved books of all kinds and enjoy both writing and reading. I have had experience instructing ages 6-18 in horse-back riding and horse care, working with special needs children, and working with children one-on-one through nannying and childcare. I served as a mentor through Colorado State University’s Dream Project. I am majoring in science and have experience writing and editing through the Journal of Undergraduate Research and Artistry, as well as through classical education, self-taught learning, and an experience studying abroad.
I offer a free consultation meeting, to make sure that my tutoring style is a good fit for the student and to better understand what the student needs as a learner. I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy, although I understand that circumstances cannot always be controlled, and so am happy to arrange to make-up lessons on an individual basis.
I usually meet with students in local public libraries (I reserve a private study room to ensure students have a quiet environment to learn). However, I am happy to tutor out of other locations if that is most convenient for the student.
I am excited to be starting a tutoring business, and look forward to working with you or your child!
