I believe that education is the key to success and that individualized learning is the key to education. Learning styles come in all shapes and sizes. I enjoy getting to know each student’s unique learning style and interests in order to provide the best tutoring possible.
I love learning. I find history and science engaging, eye-opening, and exciting, and consider it a privilege to help foster this love of knowledge in others. I have always loved books of all kinds and enjoy both writing and reading. I have had experience instructing ages 6-18 in horse-back riding and horse care, working with special needs children, and working with children one-on-one through nannying and childcare. I served as a mentor through Colorado State University’s Dream Project. I am majoring in science and have experience writing and editing through the Journal of Undergraduate Research and Artistry, as well as through classical education, self-taught learning, and an experience studying abroad.
I offer a free consultation meeting, to make sure that my tutoring style is a good fit for the student and to better understand what the student needs as a learner. I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy, although I understand that circumstances cannot always be controlled, and so am happy to arrange to make-up lessons on an individual basis.
I usually meet with students in local public libraries (I reserve a private study room to ensure students have a quiet environment to learn). However, I am happy to tutor out of other locations if that is most convenient for the student.
I am excited to be starting a tutoring business, and look forward to working with you or your child!
7 years of experience performing plays, musicals, and vocal performances lead to an enthusiasm for public speaking. Musical theatre training, vocal performance training, public speaking training through the University Honors Program at Colorado State University, presentation of speeches on various biology topics as well experience presenting at poster sessions for biological research has given me the knowledge and practice to help guide you in public speaking, no matter your current skill level. Tutoring focuses on evaluating individual student needs and creating confidence, organization, enthusiasm, and quality speech writing for any occasion.
