I have successively accomplished three degrees and graduated with honors in each. Science, Biology, Land Use Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing. I have completed my 3rd of my PhD in Soil Science. I tutored during my undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Southern Colorado. I was trained by tutoring experts and understand that each student obtains information from different learning styles. My style of tutoring starts with the basic understanding of how each individuals learns and customizes their program of learning.

Areas of interest are all aspects of Biology (e.g. Botany, Zoology, Mammology, and physiology), Geography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Soil Science.

I hold myself to high academic standards, and learning has been not only a goal but a life long pursuit. Knowledge is wonderful, and provides a wonderful insight on the world as a whole. I also set a high standard in my abilities to convey and clarify subject matter information to each student. I will request feedback and will never bill for a lesson in which the student or parent is not completely satisfied.

I try to be as flexible as possible, but will need to work around my academic schedule as well. I do have a 24 hours cancellation policy and will schedule make up classes when needed.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Microsoft Access

For the past 12 years I worked as a database developer and data manager. I was intimately involved in the development of a non native species tracking database. I moved on to managing and manipulating soil resource data in a nation wide data set within Access. I have formal training on database design and normalization. Developed forms, reports and queries to satisfy specific needs and information requests.

Organic Chemistry

I have taken organic chemistry in my biology undergraduate degree. I'm currently working in the field of soil science, and the concepts of organic elements apply. Using the molecular model kit is beneficial in the visualization of the bonds and chemical structure. I enjoy organic chemistry above all other chemistry classes.
