I love science! And I have a large range of experience both studying and teaching basic biology all the way through advanced microbiology and biochemistry. I have done most of my tutoring/mentoring/teaching as a graduate student teaching assistant, but I have also mentored undergraduate researchers in a research laboratory setting and have extensive experience with biological research methods and the scientific method in general. I prefer to teach and explain topics in a collaborative way. If the student has something he or she does not understand I like to ask other question and lead that student to the correct answer via he or her own thought processes and intellect. This usually results in a student that has a better grasp of the subject as well as an enhanced ability to remember the subject discussed later on. I am patient and believe there are no stupid questions. I currently work for Colorado State University as a Research Associate in the Biochemistry department.
